Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

He said that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

The attacks succeed periods of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and officials were anticipating more assaults.
